The rules for OriginStats' Refer & Earn programme.
This page is the Referral Program Terms for OriginStats' Refer & Earn programme. It sits alongside, and does not replace, the general Terms of Service, including clause 8 (Experts, competitions, Origin Coins, and campaign rewards) which already governs Referral Coins as a class of Origin Coin. Where this page and the general Terms describe the same thing, they are meant to agree; if you find a conflict, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix the page that is wrong. Taking part in Refer & Earn means you accept both.
You must be 18 years of age or older and meet clause 3 (Eligibility and local laws) of the general Terms. You need an OriginStats account to hold a referral link and to be referred by one. You cannot refer yourself, and a reward is not paid where the referrer and the referee are found to be the same person or household evading that rule. We may decline, hold or reverse a reward under section 11 below where we reasonably suspect an account was not eligible.
Sharing your link attributes a registration to you. Where someone registers having followed more than one referral link, only the first valid one attaches -- a later one is ignored, not substituted, so a link cannot be attributed and then reattributed by revisiting a different one. An unknown, expired or self-referred code is dropped silently and does not block the person from registering. Attribution lapses automatically after 30 days if the referee has not yet made a qualifying membership payment.
A figure shown to a referee while their referral is pending verification, or shown to either side while a reward is maturing, is a preview of what release will pay -- it is not received, not earned, not credited and not added to any balance. It has no ledger entry and belongs to no Referral Coin lot until the reward reaches the available state described below. Nothing in a pending or maturing state can be spent, transferred, or carried into any calculation of your balance.
A referral reward matures once the referee makes their first successful membership payment. From that payment, both sides of the referral wait out a maturity window of 30 days before anything is released: the referee's reward of 1000 Referral Coins -- the same amount already shown to you as pending under section 4, now released rather than added to it -- and the referrer's reward of 1000 Referral Coins. We may pause that window and place a reward under review where we are checking a risk signal; a reward under review has not failed, and we tell you inside the service rather than resolving it silently.
A referrer earns a standard reward for at most 10 successful paid referrals in a game month (our day, week and month boundaries run on the 04:01 UTC schedule described in the general Terms, not the calendar). A referral beyond that count in the same month is still recorded and still shown on your dashboard, but does not itself pay a reward. We may raise this limit for an individual account, including for a verified partner, at our discretion.
Separately from the standard reward described above, reaching a lifetime count of successful paid referrals pays a one-off milestone bonus at each threshold, whatever the monthly cap in section 6 is doing that month: 3 referrals: +1000; 5 referrals: +2000; 10 referrals: +5000 Referral Coins. A milestone is earned once each time you cross its threshold. It is reversed only where a refund, chargeback or other reversal under section 10 drops your lifetime released count back below that threshold -- in which case we recover that milestone bonus's own unspent Referral Coins on the basis set out in section 10 -- and it can be earned again by crossing the threshold again. A referral that is reversed before release under section 10 does not count toward a milestone; one that reaches release counts for as long as it stands, even where the standard reward for that same referral fell outside the monthly cap.
Referral Coins are the promotional class of Origin Coin described at clause 8 of the general Terms: issued to you under this programme rather than purchased with money. They can be spent anywhere an Origin Coin can be spent, including to unlock a human Expert's picks. When you spend Origin Coins we deduct from any promotional Referral Coins in your balance first, and among Referral Coins from whichever are due to expire soonest, so a promotional balance is used before it can die unused beside coins you paid for. Referral Coins carry no cash value: they cannot be redeemed, exchanged, cashed out, sold, gifted or transferred to any other person or account for money or any other consideration.
Referral Coins expire 90 days after they are released to you under section 5. We will notify you inside the service in advance of that date. Coins that expire are removed from your balance and cannot be spent. We do not restore or compensate expired coins as a matter of course; any exception is solely at our discretion and is not something you can request or claim as of right.
Where a referee's membership payment is refunded, disputed or reversed before their reward has released, nothing was ever issued and there is nothing to reverse: the referral is simply cancelled and drops off both dashboards. Where a payment is refunded, disputed or reversed after release, we reverse the unspent Referral Coins remaining from that referral, and only from that referral -- we never reach into a balance a different, still-valid referral earned, and we never reverse Origin Coins you purchased. Where the coins from that referral are not enough to cover the reversal because you have already spent them, the shortfall is not a debt: we do not carry it against any other balance, do not collect it from a future reward, and will never present it to you as an amount owed. A reversal never takes your balance below zero. The same basis applies to a milestone bonus under section 7: if reversing a referral drops your lifetime released count back below a threshold you were already paid for, we reverse that milestone bonus's own unspent Referral Coins -- never Origin Coins you purchased, and never below zero -- and where you have already spent part of it, that part is recorded for our own risk review only and is not a debt. We may place any part of a referral under review, including before a reward has released, where volume, device or payment signals suggest the referral needs a closer look; a hold does not itself decide the outcome, and we will not present a held balance as a debt.
We may withhold, hold, reverse or refuse a reward, and may suspend or close an account, where we reasonably suspect duplicate or linked accounts, self-referral, coordinated or reciprocal registration, manipulation of the referral link or its tracking, or any other conduct that abuses or circumvents this programme or its intended operation.
We may add to, alter, pause or discontinue Refer & Earn, including its reward amounts, windows, cap and milestone ladder, at any time; a change takes effect when it is published and does not itself reduce or take back a reward already released to you. If the programme is turned off, a referral already in its maturity window under section 5 still releases when that window ends -- turning the programme off is not a reason to strand a reward already promised.
